Exams

• Lecture: Written exams. First exam takes plase on July 14, 15:00 - 17:00, in HS 11.02.
• Exercises: Grading based on participation and two exams (Intermediate exam: May 12, 2017, during the exercises. Final exam: July 4, 2017, 14:00 -- 16:00, HS 10.11), see details below.

Grading for the exercises:

In total, 24 (regular) points can be achieved as follows:

1. Exams (12 points):
   • 3 points from intermediate exam (May 12, 2017)
   • 9 points from final exam (June 30, 2017)
2. Participation (12 points + 3 extra points):
   • 6 points based on quantity and quality of blackboard presentations.
   • i<=6 points for marking more that (50+5i)% of the exercises.
   • i<=3 points for marking more that (80+5i)% of the exercises.

Necessary conditions for a positive grading:

1. In total (incl. extra points) more that 12 points.
2. At least 6 points from the exam.
3. At least 50% of the exercises marked.

Attendance:

• No compulsory attendance at the exercises.
• If you want to get points for marking exercises without attending, there must be a good reason for not attending and please contact me in time (if possible) such that the marked exercises can be discussed in my office.
