Social events

Welcome Reception Monday Sep 18, 19:00

The Welcome Reception takes place at Meerscheinschlössl (Mozartgasse 3, Graz) which is 200m from the conference venue.

Excursions Wednesday Sep 20

Excursion 1: Lurgrotte Semriach Cave.

We will go by bus to Semriach north of Graz and take part in a guided tour of the Lurgrotte cave (https://lurgrotte.at/). You will be exposed to low temperatures for about 1 hour. We meet at 14:15 in front of the ReSoWi building, Geidorfgürtl. At 17:30 the bus goes back to Graz, depositing participants at the location of the conference dinner.

Excursion 2: Zotter Chocolate Factory

We go by bus to visit Zotter’s chocolate factory (https://www.zotter.at/zotter-erlebniswelt). We meet at 14:15 in front
of the ReSoWi building, Geidorfgürtl. In the chocolate factory itself you can eat as much chocolate as you wish, starting with crude cacao and getting better as the tour progresses. The bus departs at 17:45 and brings participants back to Graz, directly to the conference dinner.

Excursion 3: Guided tour of the Old Town.

This guided tour of the old town and its courtyards starts 15:30. The meeting point is the well in the Landhaus courtyard,
Herrengasse 16. The tour ends at 17:15.

Excursion 4: Guided tour of the Old Town – Roof landscape and Schlossberg hill.

This guided tour of the old town starts 15:30. The meeting point is the well in the Landhaus courtyard, Herrengasse 16. The tour focuses on the roof landscape of Graz, which has the UNESCO world heritage predicate, and ends on top of the Schlossberg hill at 17:15. Transport up & down Schlossberg is included (for the adventurous: the downhill slide is not included).

Conference Dinner, Wednesday Sep 20.

The Conference Dinner takes place at the Aiola im Schloss Restaurant (Andritzer Reichsstraße 144) at 19:00 on Wednesday Sep 20. You can reach it by taking tram No 3 or No. 5 to Andritz, and the take Bus No. 53 to Fuss der Leber, leaving the bus at “St. Gotthart”. The restaurant is a new building beside the 1660 villa called “St.Veiter Schlössl”.
