Coordination project
The Coordination project supports the scientific activities of the SFB on many levels. Besides handling central administrative matters and ensuring effective communication between all sub- projects of the SFB, it is also involved in all matters of outreach and dissemination, in particular by maintaining the SFB’s website and by organizing international scientific workshops on topics related to the SFB to showcase its results.
Most crucially, it acts as central data steward: in this role, it is responsible for implementing and coordinating the data management interface between the mathematical and application subprojects via a dedicated research data management platform. This will ensure that all subprojects have continuous efficient access to the data sets generated by the application subprojects and the algorithms developed by the mathematical subprojects.
The platform is also at the core of the Open Research Portal of the SFB where all publications, data sets (where legally possible), and software created by the SFB will be made publicly available. Together with the SFB’s strong open access policy, the coordination project will thus guarantee that all research output of the SFB will follow FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) principles.
