MIMA - Mittagessen mit Mathematikerinnen

Once a month, we invite you to an exciting lecture series supported and organized by Graz Women in Mathematics. MIMA is now entering its third semester — a series that is growing and has its own small history. In each event, a woman mathematician from either KFU or TU Graz presents her current research area in a 20-minute talk. These short talks offer inspiring insights into various mathematical topics and are aimed especially at Bachelor’s and Master’s students as well as PhD candidates (Mathematics and Teacher Education). The goal is to make the diversity of mathematical research visible and to encourage exchange about possible topics for theses and dissertations.

The presentations combine research with insights into academic life: for example, PhD studies and career paths, stays abroad, balancing family and work, challenges, and opportunities. After the talk, there is plenty of time for informal discussion and questions in a relaxed atmosphere. All participants will also receive a free lunch box! (Vegan option available; we provide savory + sweet + fruit as well as drinks.)

Registration for April is now open! Please register no later than April 13 at 14:00. Click the “Registration and Abstract” button in the table below to open the registration form. You can also find the abstract of the talk on the same page.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email immediately. A reminder email will be sent one day before the event.

Do you have suggestions, ideas, or feedback about MIMA (for example topics, speakers, or the format)? Feel free to email us at mima@uni-graz.at.
