4.3.2.1 Generation of stiffness matrix.

The non-overlapping node distributions is the quite natural distribution when finite volumes (FVM) are used in the discretization. If a FEM or FDM discretization is used, then the local stiffness matrix $ K_i$ has to include all connections to the next layer of nodes contained in neighboring elements.
