2.2.3 The Ring

The ring is just an extension of the pipe.

Ex.:
  • Gaußalgorithm using a distribution of unknowns different to that in pipe.
  • Multiple 1D Gauß-Seidel iterations also with fully occupied matrices.
  • Input and output of data via one excellent processor/node which is connected to a host computer. This is especially useful if the amount of data exceeds the local memory of one processor.
